Before you start
- A TV or box running Android TV or Google TV with Google Play. Samsung and LG sets run their own systems; for those, use a plug-in Android TV box or stick.
- Cybo VPN on your phone, signed in with the account you want to use.
- PRO on that account. Android TV is part of PRO. One subscription covers up to five devices.
The five steps
- Subscribe on your phone. In the Cybo VPN app on your phone, sign in with Google or with your email address, then subscribe to PRO. Paying on the phone is easier than with a remote, and Google Play handles the billing.
- Install on the TV. On the TV, open Google Play, search for "Cybo VPN" and install it.
- Open Cybo and press Sign in. The TV shows "Cybo VPN on TV is a PRO feature" with a Sign in button. Use the arrow keys to reach it and press OK.
- Sign in with the same account. Choose Google, or type the email address and password you used on your phone. Press the keyboard's Done key to send. The TV checks for PRO and opens the app.
- Choose India and connect. Go to the locations, pick India (Mumbai) and connect. Android asks once to allow the VPN connection; press OK. Apps on the TV now see an Indian IP address while Cybo is connected.
Getting around with the remote
Every screen works with the remote alone. The arrow keys move between buttons and fields, OK selects, and Back closes the keyboard or goes back a screen. After typing in a field, close the keyboard and the arrow keys take you on to the next control. Long pages, such as the PRO page, scroll as you move down them.
If something does not work
- "This account doesn't have PRO yet." You are signed in with an account that has no subscription, often a second Google account. Select Use another account and sign in with the one you subscribed with on your phone.
- You subscribed a moment ago. Give it a few seconds, then select Check again.
- An app on the TV still sees your own country. Make sure Cybo shows as connected to India, then close and reopen that app so it picks up the new address.
